Recently, I’ve found some time to delve into Clutter. Most of the time has been spent just getting familiar (via updating clutter toys, hacking on libtidy and bits) and I just committed my first real demo. It’s available under the usual toys directory (called ‘youhaa’) – A screencast:
For anyone that was interested in Clutter before, but (despite its relative simplicity) was turned off by the difficulty of creating applications, you should *definitely* take a look at 0.6. With the new events and effects APIs/features, things have gotten even easier and, for me, it definitely marks the point at which Clutter has become a real alternative to GTK, SDL, OpenGL et al. for creating quick, one-off demos.
Also, Youtube’s web API sucks.
